You may be wondering, "What is the lymphatic system?” I know that, for me, I have seldom thought much about it. It has much to do with our immune system so we must give it some attention. I thought for this post, I would give you some information that I have found about the lymphatic system and how we can improve it.
Here are a few indications that your lymphatic system needs attention:
Headaches
Brain fog
Swollen lymph nodes or tonsils
Lack of energy
Recurrent sore throats
Morning mucous
Mucous drainage (especially after dairy or flour)
Fluid backup in the ear (especially in children)
Ear popping and ringing
Reduced ability to fight infection (frequent cold or flu)
Constipation or slugging bowel function
Inability to lose weight
Soreness or stiffness in the morning
Bloating, swelling, or heaviness in extremities
Arms or hands fall asleep while sleeping
Pain, pressure, or stiffness along your spine and shoulders
Sore breast or breast swelling with your menstrual cycle
Itchy skin
Acne, dry skin, or other skin issues
A combination of a sedentary lifestyle, a poor diet, and a toxic environment all contribute to a backed-up system.
Allow me to share a few “Soft Hugs” that might help your Lymphatic system.
S - Scripture
You will find as you experience these hugs from me this month, that developing discipline in your life and accepting it from God and others, can have a positive affect on your health. This year, I have been focusing on the word, CONNECT. Connect with God. Connect with family. Connect with others. And the first one to connect with is God.
Then… Take time to breathe friends. It will do you a world of good.
Take a minute and read a post from a while back, If God is my Healer, Why Am i Still Sick?
O - Oasis

F - Funny
How about a few funny movies.
Out of the Woods - A Man, Ed Asner, buys a cabin in the woods to get away from it all, but his kids aren’t too happy about that!
What About Bob - Before going on vacation, self-involved psychiatrist Dr. Leo Marvin has the misfortune of taking on a new patient: Bob Wiley. An exemplar of neediness and a compendium of phobias, Bob follows Marvin to his family's country house. Dr. Marvin tries to get him to leave; the trouble is, everyone loves Bob. As his oblivious patient makes himself at home, Dr. Marvin loses his professional composure and, before long, may be ready for the loony bin himself.
The Great Outdoors - It's vacation time for outdoorsy Chicago man Chet Ripley, along with his wife, Connie, and their two kids, Buck and Ben. But a serene weekend of fishing at a Wisconsin lakeside cabin gets crashed by Connie's obnoxious brother-in-law, Roman Craig, his wife, Kate, and the couple's two daughters. As the excursion wears on, the Ripleys find themselves at odds with the stuffy Craig family.
T - Travel
I lived in Wisconsin during my teen years and then again as an adult for 6 years when my husband and I pastored in Milwaukee. It’s an absolutely beautiful state to visit in the summertime. Here is a quick virtual tour of the Wisconsin Dells, our top vacation spot in Wisconsin.

H - Heard
I started following the Bone Coach, Kevin Ellis, after learning I had severe osteoporosis. I am more and more amazed at how our bodies and their systems are so connected. The Bone Coach recently interviewed Dr. Cathy Goldstein about the Lymphatic System and Bone Connection. Dr. Goldstein is an acupuncture and Chinese medicine specialist. I believe you will find a lot of good information with her even if you don’t want to use Eastern medicine.
