Post Launch - Thanksgiving Post
One last gift, more news, and a Thanksgiving thought
Here’s One Last Gift
Traditionally, I have always liked giving each person a book of their own interest. My kids always liked it. So if you like to give books as gifts, I have a holiday gift guide for you. This guide has ideas for each age level.
I just learned that Holly the Holstein is now available at Barnes & Noble. And at Book Depository. If you are a member there, please go review it there as well. The Coloring book is on Amazon. It will usually come up along with the storybook, but if not search for A,B,Cs Down on the Farm Coloring book.
The past 12 years of my life have been wrought with pain and struggles but what I learned early on is that gratitude makes all the difference.
I just started reading Nancy Leigh Demos’s book Choosing Gratitude - Your Journey to Joy and her words from the start have stamped this truth in my heart. Here is one quick quote…
“I am convinced that we mist cultivate the grace and spiritual discipline of gratitude if we are to avoid losing our footing in these days. An important key to not becoming overwhelmed by what is going on around us is looking for evidences of God’s Hand at work in the midst of the turmoil and being “simply overwhelmed with thankfulness to Him.”
It is striking to me how many times in the scripture - particularly in the Psalms - we are exhorted to give thanks, to praise the Lord, to sing to the Lord. Even more so to realize now many of those passages were penned by someone in dire straits.”
My Challenge to You
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to begin the practice of gratitude. Start making a list of the blessings of God. Think of three every day. It can be something big or something little. Just try to do it. Then after Thanksgiving keep on doing it.
By next Thanksgiving, you will have over 1000 things to be grateful for and you will find that your life is more joyful.
Bonus for writers and speakers
